Charity and Porn Dollars Don't Mix

According to the Tampa Bay area’s Channel 10 News, the The Autism Society of Florida doesn’t want donations from the backers of the Tampa Erotic Ball. Now if you’ve taken to the time to watch the clip (and I hope you did because I’m not gonna spend all fucking day explaining it) you’ll know that Ven Sequenzia, the president of The Autism Society of Florida, essentially says that he has a problem with the promotion of the event because the website contains nude pictures of porn stars. Well, fuck you, Ven Sequenzia. I understand that many people outside of the porn industry often find the porn industry a little scummy and try to disassociate themselves from it for fear of ridicule. People get spooked.

In the modern America, where the idea of a woman publicly breast feeding her child causes an uproar full of repressed sexual overtones, it’s easy to see that people have all manner of baggage as it pertains to the nude human form. However, it’s simply beyond my comprehension how any legitimate charity organization, especially one that is presumably secular in nature, would have the sheer gall to raise hell about receiving a donation from an event that uses nude images of porn stars to promote an event. Ya know, because naked porn stars are remarkably scandalous, what with taking their clothes off and getting popped in the pooper being their job and all.

I guess my issue with Sequenzia’s stance is his general lack of priorities or common fucking sense. It seems to me that rather than helping people, he’s more interested in politics. From my view, this is a sad state of affairs.

When I think about the fact that some autistic kid might lack a single item that he or she might need because Ven Sequenzia is too afraid of how he might look if he simply accepted the well-intended donation, it makes me want to stab him and all of his half-assed, sexually repressed, mind-fucked mates at the The Autism Society of Florida right in their ears with a broken screwdriver. I mean really, how dare they?

Maybe we should put this in perspective. Let’s just say, for sake of argument, that Mr. Sequenzia is a man of morals that believes murder in any form is a virtually unforgivable sin. Would he turn down a donation from an arms dealer who could be considered directly or indirectly responsible for the deaths of thousands of children all over the world? Doesn’t that sound like a greater violation of ethics than some naked porn stars? What about a convicted murderer, child abuser, or rapist? Seriously, which sounds more like a conflict of interest?

For the record, I have to admit that Steve Huff, the event’s organizer and a man best known to EOA readers as the guy who used a vibrating sander to make a woman orgasm on one of the party buses during the NightMoves Tampa Show really should have known better. I admire his motives. After all, the idea stemmed from an adult performer we both know whose child has autism. However, it’s pretty obvious that despite his best intentions, something like this was bound to happen. Furthermore, what with the media’s love of scandal, they’ll always spin it to make the porn industry look smutty. And then, of course, the site looks like amateur night garbage. Even if he wants to justify it to the press somehow, it’s kind of hard to do so when the website looks like it was designed with a geocities template or something.

Either way, even given Huff’s general lack of foresight, I find it completely unacceptable that any charitable organization would turn down or otherwise question someone’s best-intended donation. To me it’s seems hypocritical and shameful, but it isn’t shocking.
